Autumn holidays
Autumn holidays in Utrecht! Come and visit Museum Speelklok and get hands-on, build your own music machine and be amazed by the incredible musical instruments in the museum.
Drum machine workshop
What if a table, a bottle or a piece of metal could become your next musical instrument? It can! In this surprising workshop, you’ll discover how everyday objects can become part of a music machine. Using clever little hammers and an app, you’ll build and play your very own composition together.
For creators aged 8 and over, and just as much fun for for parents and other grown-ups!

Get creative in the Makerspace
Ready to get hands-on? In the Makerspace, you can roll up your sleeves and start building with the DIY construction kit. Build your own crankshaft and discover how different mechanisms work together to create music.
Build with Octoplay
There’s plenty to build for our youngest visitors too. Use the large Octoplay discs to create all kinds of fun 3D constructions. Stack, twist and combine them while discovering how gears and technology also play an important role in the museum’s musical machines.
Discover Music Machines & Me
How can you make music without actually playing an instrument? And how can gears make music come to life? Find out for yourself in the Music Machines & Me music and technology lab. Experiment, try things out and who knows, maybe there’s a real inventor in you!
Guided tour, treasure hunt & more
There’s even more to discover at Museum Speelklok this autumn holiday. Join the Musical Tour and discover the museum’s most fascinating musical machines.
Or join the treasure hunt and help us find Toon, our little organ monkey. And of course, you can make music yourself too: in the Music Factory, you can compose your very own song.
Opening hours autumn holiday
Good news: during the autumn holidays, Museum Speelklok will also be open on Mondays, including Mondays, October 12 and 19. See you then!
