Museum Speelklok delighted with contribution from the VriendenLoterij

On March 10, Museum Speelklok received a wonder cheque of €315.543 from the VriendenLoterij. This generous contribution supports the museum in developing new activities and presentations around its unique collection of self-playing musical instruments.

We are extremely grateful to all the players of the VriendenLoterij, and especially to those who play specifically for Museum Speelklok. Thanks to their support, we can continue to bring our historic collection to life and create new ways fot visitors – young and old – to experience the music of mechanical music.

With this contribution, we will be able to develop a range of new activities and public programs in the coming period, allowing visitors to engage even  more with history, craftmanship and workings of our musical machines.

In this new interactive presentation, opening on April 15, visitors will have the change to create their own musical machine, discovering how mechanical music works and how music, technology, and creativity come together.

Thanks to the participants, the VriendenLoterij was able to donate over €160 million in 2025 to culture, sports and social welfare across the Netherlands, supporting inpiring projects and organizations throughout the country – inluding Museum Speelklok.
