Under Marian’s leadership, the Museum Speelklok team has taken significant steps in recent years towards the museum’s further development. As well as strengthening the position of its unique collection of self-playing musical instruments, the museum developed its own game on Roblox to reach younger audiences. It also established Music Machines & Me, an innovative music and technology lab on the first floor where visitors can discover, experiment and create for themselves. In this way, the museum has continued to build a future-proof organisation.

Marian looks back with great pleasure on her time at Museum Speelklok: “In the year that Museum Speelklok celebrates its 70th anniversary and the new layout of the upper floor has been completed, I am leaving the museum with pride and peace of mind. Museum Speelklok is ready for the future. I am grateful to the Supervisory Board and the staff for their trust and for the freedom I was given to develop new projects and set a new course for the museum.”

The Supervisory Board thanks Marian for her great commitment, enthusiasm and dedication to the museum. The Supervisory Board will work with the management team in the coming period to fill the director’s post. In doing so, careful consideration will be given to Museum Speelklok’s challenges and ambitions for the coming years. The continuity of the organisation and its ongoing activities are thereby assured.
